Hi, I’m Brenda :). I am a recent grad from San Francisco State University, with a bachelors degree in computer science. I’ve worked on several projects in my coursework where I developed a keen interest in Agile development and managing projects to completion.

Experience
San Francisco International Aiport (SFO) echnology vision is to provide solutions that empower our passengers stakeholders, and Commission staff. ITT’s mission is to elevate airport operations by implementing the right technology in service of our people, guests, and our planet
- Assisted IT projet managers with planning and executing, by coordinating with cross-functional teams,tracking project timelines, and facilliating communication.
- Led technical projects which included the project life cycle; initiation, planning, execution, delivery, and closing.
The Computer Science Deparment at SF State serves all computer science students in either undergraduate or graduate studies.
- Supported weekly discussion sections of 30+ students for the Intro to Programming course
- Engaged students one-to-one to facillitate understanding of course concepts and completion of projects
Dev/Mission partners with tech companies and their employees to bridge the diversity gap in tech by offering mentorship, internship and apprenticeship opportunities, and corporate site visits.
- Learned the fundamentals of IoT, Intro to Programming,IT essentials, and career development skills
- Developed project management experience while leading the back-end of our class website
Computer Science 648 consists of practial methods and tools for software engineering including organizational teamwork
- Developed a comprehensiive project plan outlining tasks, timelines, and milestones with a group of 6 members to create a full stack website
- Maintained detailed project documentation, including meeting minutes, design specifications, and progress reports
CAHSI efforts center on research that focuses on organizational behavior in HSI’s that advance Hispanic computing success
- Hosted workshops to promote diversity and inclusion for CS students
- MFounded and delivered “ Encouraging Diversity in Tech”, a biweekly newsletter to disseminate job opportunities and resources to CS students
Orientation Leaders (OLs) assist with the implementation of San Francisco State University’s New Student & Family Orientation Program (NSFP). OLs are current students who are well-respected, academically balanced leaders on campus.
- Assisted in the preparation of over 30 orientation sessions: scheduling, documentation, and staffing/logistics.
- Mentored newly admitted students through orientation, connecting them with academic resources and student life at SFSU.
- Hosted campus tours for several hundred students and guided them through course selection and enrollment.
